Our Pear Varieties

The heavy clay soils of the Low Weald are ideal for our main pear variety, the fabulously sweet Conference. These pears are great to eat fresh or perhaps to poach in a little red wine as a delicious autumn pudding.

We also produce that classic Christmas pear, Doyenne du Comice. So juicy that the only place to eat these when they are just right is in the bath!

The varieties William and Concorde and Delsanne also grow well here.
